I will be having my first fight of the year this sunday the 31st of jan against Harry Venka at the Auckland Boxing Association CHURRR

Gisborne, March 7, 2009 as main undercard to Shane Cameron. “Mini-Mike Tyson” Steven Heremaia will fight New Zealand’s Junior Middleweight titleholder Lee Oti. Scheduled for 6 rounds, the bout is a crucial step for Heremaia in his campaign to break into the world professional ranks.

Both experienced and highly capable fighters, the more compact Heremaia will be giving away almost six inches to Oti. Heremaia will be looking to walk the taller Oti onto the ropes, working the body and using his huge punching power to finish the fight early.

Saturday 8th November was Stevens chance to show case his power and readiness to take on anyone. The fight against Faimasasa Tavuui was an excellent fight with Steve moving forward in the opening rounds and Tavuui not drawn in to play the rush-in game.

In the second round Heremaia landed a nice double body shot and Tavuui came forward with one two, left hook combination which Steve bobed and weaved away from.

By the end of the final round Steven and Tavuui both showed great heart with the Judges deciding unanimously for Heremaia

Amateur rules frown on Steve’s style and are better suited to tall fighters who live off the jab. The pro game is about power, aggression and hurting your opponent. Steve does that constantly.
